Flip Flap Fabulous

9/26: I've added this post to a fun Halloween blog hop started by Tresa Black on her amazing blog Fabulously Artsy. Here are Tresa's instruction if you want to join in:
This hop is all about Halloween! If you've made something for this spooky holiday, show it off! Stamping, Scrapbooking, cards are all welcome, as well as home decor, sewing, costumes, recipes, you name it. As long as it's Halloween, it's all good!
If you'd like to play along, you just need to scroll to the bottom of the thumbnails and click on the "click here to enter" button. It will walk you through the steps to submit your own picture that will show up on my blog, and get a code to put on your own blog. The blog hop will then be on your blog too, easy peasy!

And here is my contribution...layouts with pictures from our annual Halloween Open House:

I had so much fun at my monthly Get 'Er Done crop this past weekend!! The focus of this crop (at least for me) is to complete an entire Level 1 kit in an evening. This time around, I chose the great new Hooligans Level 1 kit from Close To My Heart. It's spunky and bright and I thought it was perfect for the photos I wanted to get done.
As I was working, I realized that I just had a few too many photos to fit comfortably on one layout, but I really didn't want to get rid of any of the photos.
Enter a fabulous new product: 12" Flip Flaps!! These are extra page protectors in 4" x 12", 6" x 12", and 8" x 12" sizes. They are self-adhesive and stick on the outside of your 12 x 12 page protectors, making it possible to add just a little or a lot more to your pages without making them look crammed and over-full. Since I just had a few extra photos that I couldn't fit, I chose a 4" x 12" flip flap and added it onto the left side of my Level 1 layout. I simply cut my pre-printed layout page at 4 inches, added some paper to the back for a little design flair and

TA-DAAA!!

Perfect layout with room for all the pictures I wanted!

The first picture is a picture of the layout with the flap closed and the second picture was taken with the flap open. A fabulous and easy way to add those extra photos!

Finally, here's the second layout I created with the Hooligans Level 1 kit. 4 pages in one evening...
As Mater (from 'Cars') would say:
Get 'Er Done!
Oh yeah!!

Gotta love those flip flaps! Those costumes are adorable, I love the pic in the last layout where they are holding hands. Darling! Thanks for joining the linky party on my blog!
